A 44-year-old woman died after being reportedly been shot in a crossfire between the security forces and armed thugs in the August Town area of St Andrew on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Corporate Communications Unit (CCU), members of the security forces who were in the area were attacked by heavily armed men at about 2.20 pm.
The security forces came under heavy gunfire in the area, when the shooting subsided a woman was seen suffering from gunshot wounds. She was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead,” a representative of the CCU confirmed .
The woman has been identified as Suzanne Bogle of Bryce Hill Road in the community.
11-yr-old girl shot in Arnett Gardens
An 11-year-old girl is in hospital after being shot in Arnett Gardens, St Andrew.
The shooting happened on Friday afternoon near a section of the community called Mexico.
According to the child’s grandmother, Annette Johnson, she was on her way to buy a drink at a nearby shop when she was shot.
Gunmen reportedly entered the community and opened fire indiscriminately.
“I was inside when she said she want a juice from next door. Her mother gave her $100 to buy the juice. I was in the house when I hear shot a fire,”
“By the time me come out come look, mi see har a walk a come and see she get shot. They were firing wildly. She is now in the hospital,”
Veteran reggae singer Bunny Wailer’s wife gone missing
There is a cash reward that has being offered for the safe return of 70-year-old Jean Watt. She has been missing since Saturday May 23, 2020.
Her stepson Abijah Livingston said that she suffers from dementia and may have wandered from her Washington Gardens home.
She went missing once before but only for a day.
We are asking anyone who has seen her or with any information to contact the nearest police station or just take her to the hospital for us.

Watt has dreadlocks, is of dark complexion and is 5ft 3in. She was last seen wearing a black top, brown skirt and sandals.
Labour Minister Shahine Robinson has died
Minister of Labour and Social Security and North East St Ann Member Of Parliament , Shahine Robinson has died.
Robinson, who had been battling cancer for some time, died at her home in St Ann on Friday. She was 66.
Prime Minister Andrew Holness and National Security Minister Dr Horace Chang visited Robinson at her home days before her death.
